If you’ve been living with traditional dentures, you’ll know they don’t always feel as secure as you’d like.

Implant-retained dentures combine the stability of dental implants with the convenience of dentures, giving you a smile that feels stronger, more comfortable, and much more natural.

What are implant-retained dentures?

They’re dentures that clip onto dental implants placed in your jaw. Instead of resting on your gums alone, the implants hold them firmly in place, so they won’t slip or move when you talk or eat.

Frequently asked questions

How are they different from normal dentures?

Traditional dentures rely on suction or adhesive to stay in place, which can sometimes feel loose or wobbly. Implant-retained dentures are secured to implants, so they feel far more secure and allow you to chew more confidently.

Do I need a lot of implants?

Not necessarily. Often, just 2 to 4 implants are enough to stabilise a denture. This makes them a more affordable alternative to having a full set of individual implants.

Will the procedure be painful?

The implants are placed under local anaesthetic, so you’ll be completely numb during treatment. Some tenderness afterwards is normal, but most patients are surprised at how manageable the recovery is.

Can I take the dentures out?

Yes. The dentures can be removed for cleaning, but when they’re in place, they’ll feel secure and stable. It’s the best of both worlds – easy care and everyday confidence.

How long do they last?

With good oral care and regular checkups, implants can last for decades. The dentures themselves may need replacing or adjusting over time, but they’ll continue to give you a strong, reliable smile.
